Doctoring Lash Mistakes

Have you ever had a subpar lash job? This could pertain to the environment in which your lashes were done or the quality of the lashes placed on your eyes and the technique, or lack thereof, in which they were placed.

Let us start by saying YOUR EYES ARE PRECIOUS! It is very important that whomever does your lashes uses sterile tools and equipment. It is also imperative that the person lashing you has enough experience and know how to not mess up your own lashes. If you stack numerous lashes on a single lash of your own, it can easily cause your lashes to fall out. Additionally, this gives the appearance of wearing false lashes. Isn't the point to look like you simply and naturally possess gorgeous lashes?

The equipment used must be sterile. This seems like it should go without saying, however, we have received several stories from women coming to us in order to get their lashes fixed that also shared how they noticed that the tools used were not new or sterilized. This can lead to infection. Any infection on or around the eye is no laughing matter and is not to be taken lightly.

Last but not least, let's talk about the quality of the experience when getting your lashes done. This should be a relaxing experience. You should be made to feel welcome. You should be valued as a customer but more importantly as a human being. We all work hard. We are all doing the best we can. When we go to the salon or spa for ANY type of work or experience we deserve to feel special and appreciated.

No one wants to be in a room full of other people. No one wants to over hear multiple conversations or have their session interrupted so another individual can be taken care of. You deserve to be the center of attention with whomever is working on you.

Lashing Miracles

Towards the end of last week we had a lovely client come to the shop. She was leaving for her graduation the following day. She was receiving her Master's Degree. More than anything else, in preparation for her big day, she wanted lashes. What's new you might ask? Well, about six years ago she had an accident and a chemical was spilled on her eye causing her to lose all of her lashes in one of her eyes. The lashes that remained were virtually microscopic. Nonetheless, Olivia worked her magic and low and behold we were able to give this lady beautiful lashes. She was so happy she became emotional and teary-eyed. We told her, "Don't cry it will mess up your lashes"! LOL We all laughed.

All joking aside, this was a huge deal to this client. She was very self conscious about this. Many people take various things in their lives for granted, such as our health, our bodies, and even our lashes. You don't stop to think about how it might feel to lose something that affects how you look. We have seen this with cancer patients and others that become intensely self conscious about their looks and their loss of hair.

So, when we say we perform miracles it is not only about performing a very difficult lashing procedure on a client. It goes beyond that. It is about helping someone build their self-esteem. It is about helping a human being feel good about how they look. It is about instilling confidence. It is about helping someone feel beautiful. These are all truly miracles and when we can participate in that process we are so grateful. So, thank you to that beautiful client for allowing us the opportunity to be involved in her personal miracle.
